Right back down to earth with a stinker from hell..

The moment we lost the OX and Theo resulting from strange muscular injuries, if you are not one of those given to blind optimism  that we can sweep anyone aside simply because we are Arsenal, the alarm bells should have sounded then. We were simply blunted from an attacking point of view especially considering we had no one on the bench capable of coming in and providing any attacking verve. Noteworthy that our only chance in any high light reel you watch on tv came from the head of  Mertasaker.

Look The Capital one cup was a trophy i wanted for some reason i cant say. Perhaps the thought of celebrating a trophy mid-season seemed attractive to me to help strengthen team belief but that's gone now..

I believe we must not use this game as anything other than a lesson on how teams as good as us can have just another Bad day in the office like any team. oh and No it hasn't made Gibbs , Chambers or Debuchy shit but it does go some way to show that our backups need to mentally challenge themselves to be ready to step in and do a job when called upon..The goals we conceded were rather cheap..but ill just leave it at that. Focus must shift to regaining 3 points vs Swansea as defeat there would be the real trouble starter..doubts and all might creep in and from there its always a continuous down-ward spiral hard to dig oneself out of.

So fingers crossed the chaps that fluffed their lines last night would have been given thier detentions and told to get their notepads ready to watch how the first-teamers take care of business..While we wait for good news on Walcott and OX

Nothing has been acheived yet..but we are definitely looking good

Brilliant win again last weekend..and that was not easy one bit. After putting a team like Bayern to the sword and then coming up with the tenacity to defeat a well rested battling team like Everton you deserve all the praise you can get..

In Giroud we have a striker reborn and in Ozil.. A genius enjoying school again. A win  against Sheffield will be wonderful..For some reason, its a trophy i want badly..that carling cup ..so fingers crossed.
 Olivier Giroud scores (GETTY)

FA CUP: Manchester United Vs Arsenal ..Late season Definer for 2 Old foes

This fixture is still proof that the FA CUP isn't quite yet dead as some would have you believe. The massive hype and expectation that has suddenly surrounded this tie you'd be forgiven to think both teams where meeting in the Champions League Quarter-finals instead of the FA CUP.  Its perhaps the only realistic chance for silverware for both clubs and so its win or bust territory tonight.

Gooners as you'd expect have been the more vocal in the build up to this game, talks of Revenge and breaking the jinx of not winning against United in God knows how long is front burner stuff on social media. I agree this is not unexpected in the wake of a massive game like this, and you might say it adds to the excitement of the night but i remain a firm believer in letting the feet do the talking.

So who's the form team? Both have been in what you can describe as decent form United have won 7 of their last 10 in all comps drawing 3 and losing 1. Arsenal on the other hand has won 8 out of their last 10 losing 2 in the process. Seasoned followers of this two teams know records will count for little today, both teams will fight to the death to stay alive in this competition.Whoever scores first will certainly have an advantage, so its all delicately poised. Rooney has been our tormentor-in-chief in this fixture regardless if he enters the game in fine or rotten form. Some thing about this fixture just ignites the animal in him and we will do well to shackle him for the entire game. On our part we need to make our whole the sum of its parts. Play intelligently, watch our backs (even if we go behind and are chasing the game) and do the basics well. If we can manage this, we will win.  C'mon Arsenal
