Arsenal Signs Sanchez...as Wenger shows he is not from Mars

regress'' ---------Anonymous

Let me start  by saying that now Alexis Ajendandro Sanchez is officially a gooner, come next season i hope he sticks loads of goals past Chelsea,Spurs, United, and..... Chelsea...oh did i already mention Chelsea? The rumours had been rife for a while now that both parties (Sanchez and Arsenal) had been eyeing each other  up lustfully like two Night Club revelers and on Thursday 10th of July last week, finally decided to consumate their Union publicly. Credit must go to all those who pulled this off..For me, Its hard to say if the speed involved in signing Sanchez was down to both parties being too much on the same wavelength or that for once Arsenal showed efficiency in its transfer process by speeding up usually tedious operations.  But  whatever it was down to, its great to see a short time frame between when the Rumours began, to when the deal was done....effectively putting to bed any Higuain-like re-occurence.

Sanchez is a man who needs little or no introduction, The former Barcelona man is a striker that can play up top by himself or as a 2nd striker as he proved in Udinese where he and Di natale struck a fearsome duo. He is quick, reasonably 2-footed (but naturally right) and a hard worker. He did his popularity no harm at all by refusing to be a bit-part clause on the deal that eventually saw '' Mr Bitey'' transfer to the Nou camp from Mersyside. That shows he is a man who knows what he wants and won't allow himself be devalued, not on any one's terms... least of all Barcelona's of all clubs. so What's not to like? Dude is a bloody good player  and he WANTED us!

You know, sometimes, Arsene gives the impression that he lives to give us Fans endless heart attacks. Iv heard people even go as far as saying that they are willing to bet he enjoys the drama and fuss our  transfers cause. All the groanings, moanings and stuff we fans never fail to dish out every Summer and Winter.  And for many a season, it seemed whoever it was the Fans wanted, Arsene would manage to go in the opposite direction...recall Ashley Williams? David Villa? the list is endless of those players ''twitter'' clamoured for but Wenger said ''Mais Non''.  The Sanchez signing though for a change shows that us fans and the Boss can for once see things from the same page. We demanded for him and the boss responded...

Giroud will no doubt be the happiest man with this signing as what this does for him is reduce the pressure of being the go-to-man  for goals. Ozil also will be a far happier ''assist man'' seeing that most of  his defence-splitters are going to be  better converted when Sanchez is playing. I could go into the facts and numbers of Sanchez's goal getting prowess but that's boring stuff even for me the blog man, let alone the reader. Im pretty sure what you've seen of him with your own eyes is damn well good enough a measuring stick. Looking at the structure of our attack though it should make for some interesting formations. I forsee a likely diamond, front-line consisting Sanchez, Giroud, Walcott, Ozil..  That is a quartet that's got it all on paper: Height, speed,Guile and Clinical  finishing... Something definitely to look forward to..

Other departments that require urgent look-in are obviously our Goal keeping and Center-back positions. Should Vermaelen depart as is being speculated, that could put us in a bad bargaining position if he goes before we get some one in, so Unless we are sure he's staying put..Steps need to be taken fast. Defensive Midfield has come in again for mention and the name of German international Khedira has come up for discussion.  While i rate him as a fine midfielder, i remain unconvinced he is the answer to our defensive problems. He is pretty offensive in nature. Schweinsteiger is mostly the man who does most of the dirty work in the German team and if we are going for Khedira it surely has to do with his other skillsets.

There's still plenty of summer left though, and you can bet the  moment all the Worldcup buzz is over all eyes will turn to the Transfer market. With Debuchy set to be unveiled also next week,  that's 2 major signings in July.. looks like Arsenal have made their intentions clear. We want that Title...and we are ready to strengthen regardless of how much it will take

UPDATE : Just thought id extend my congratulations to our worthy ambassadors Messrs Mesut Ozil, Per Mertasacker and Lukas Podolski as they are crowned World champions in far away Brazil. What an achievement! and its safe to say their win was thoroughly deserved..I hope this puts them in a frenzied state of hunger for more trophies, so they can get the much needed rest now, and come back later to London so we can prepare to launch an EPL offensive which we all hope will lead to another ARSENAL trophy..
